An exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team working for Midland Heart, a leading social housing and care provider based in the Midlands.
Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Bath Row, Central Birmingham
Salary: £30,785 per annum
Hours: 35 Hours per Week (Full Time)
Contract Type: Permanent
The successful candidate will work with the Senior Financial Accountant, providing accounting support for a range of diverse areas from month end accounting to the production of statutory accounts.
You will be responsible for:
- Producing annual statutory accounts for each of Midland Hearts mutual companies in accordance with their differing year ends
- Ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines
- Assistance in the production of group year end accounts and preparation for audit
- Being one of the points of contact for the external auditors
- Complex balance sheet reconciliations
This role would be ideal for someone who is mid-way through the final stage of their qualification, or a passed finalist (ACCA, CIMA or ACA). If you are looking to build upon the knowledge gained throughout your qualification, and develop the skills gained from previous experience in a similar financial accounting role, this role is for you. You will also have the opportunity to work with other teams within the Finance Department, to expand your knowledge further.
Experience in financial reporting and month/year end close processes is essential, along with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Attention to detail is key, and you should possess good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. The role will allow a level of autonomy and decision making, so you must have the ability to work on your own initiative, with minimal supervision, however you will be supported by the Senior Financial Accountant to grow and develop in the role.
