Job Title:Commercial Officer (J43702) Location:Derby Duration:Contract (up to 12 months) Introduction: Assystem are an engineering design consultancy who work on a number of projects that typically encompass the complete design life cycle from enquiry through to commissioning and handover of the final project requirements; many involving new and novel solutions to today's engineering problems. Assystem operate in the nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and marine markets throughout the UK. This latest role is for a Commercial Officer on a long term contract, based on our client's site in Derby as part of a wider commercial team community embedded into project delivery. Job role: The Commercial Officer will be working as part of a collaborative commercial department across various areas of the business. The role requires someone with the following knowledge and capability: Hands on experience drafting and amending terms & conditions Contract management Experience of the bidding and tendering process from a commercial perspective Claims management Customer relationship experience Key Accountabilities Develop and implement contracting strategies for new business using appropriate processes and procedures. Interface closely with Customer Business, Operating Business, Engineering, Finance etc to develop comprehensive business proposals Lead the business evaluation / approvals process and secure Executive Leadership approvals. Lead, negotiate and deliver business deals that align with the agreed framework arrangements. Manage commercial issues including new product introduction, design changes, resolution of commercial issues and claims, correct administration of contracts. Identify and actively manage contracts and to minimise risk and liability. Qualifications Degree or equivalent qualification. A proven track record of leading and delivering complex customer deals. A strong commercial and contract aptitude and the ability to deal with business and commercial issues. A proven ability to lead negotiations and negotiating teams, analyse, interpret, negotiate and draft contracts with high attention to detail. Security clearance: Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.
