An exciting opportunity has arisen in Derby for a Production Planning Manager to join a successful business due to experience significant growth. Client Details Our client, based in Derby, have a strong reputation across their specific market sector. Due to growth and plans to build stronger processes across supply chain they are now looking to appoint a Production Planning Manager to lead strategy across multiple site locations. Description The key responsibilities of this Production Planning Manager position will be to: - Liaises with customer / sales / business development team to determine customer requirements - Maintain and manage the Production Scheduling System on a daily basis to support the operational needs of the business to meet customer build requirements - Review scheduling requirements and ensure modules are manufactured within required deadlines. - Ensure BOM are up-to-date and maintained on the system. - Produce weekly / monthly reports as required - Provide support with the introduction of new products to ensure operational planning requirements are completed on time and within budget. - Ensure timely, full and accurate communication with all relevant departments on any factors which impact on delivery dates, commitments to customers, quality etc. - Support forecasting of material requirements to meet production needs - Develop and supervise the Production Co-ordinators. - Troubleshoots problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions - Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption - Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple sites - Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay - Utilise the system to support determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand - Advise on production shift requirements according to production needs - Monitor production processes to ensure that customer demands are met. - Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.) - Keep paperwork organised - Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and other staff - Any other reasonable duties which may be required from management from time to time Profile Ideally the successful candidate for this role of Production Planning Manager will have: - Proven experience as production planner - Further education - Degree / HNC / ONC - Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning - Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems - Good with statistics - Strong organisational and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills - Managerial experience - ideally leading a small team of planners (multi-site would be useful) Job Offer £35000 - £45000
