IT Support Engineer
IT Support Engineer I am currently working with a client within the manufacturing sector based in Derby who are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their IT Department. Main duties will be to ensure the provision of the effective Help Desk support service to the business through the efficient and timely management of IT related issues affecting users of the IT network and Infrastructure of the company within agreed SLAs. This role has genuine career development prospects if you work hard and show your worth to the business within first 3-6 months, the plan is to progress to IT support team lead or Service desk manager while the team continues to grow. IT Support Engineer: Windows 7 / Office / Exchange 2007/ Server 212 / Hyper-V / Citrix / £22,000 - £27,000 / Permanent / Derby Job Description Duties and responsibilities: Provide 1st and 2nd line support for all customers via phone, email or face-to-face Provide an escalation point for 1st line colleagues Following in-depth diagnosis, escalate to 3rd line where applicable Log all incidents and requests within the agreed service desk system Keep customers informed of progress at all times Manage, prioritize and plan own work queue and deal with calls within the set SLAs Provide support and training to 1st line colleagues Create and maintain knowledge base articles to enable consistency and learning within the team Communicate effectively face to face or via email as appropriate with staff at all levels including Directors and Senior Management Comply with all Health & Safety requirements for this role and in general terms as set out in the Health and Safety Handbook. Person Specification Degree level or equivalent in an IT or business related competence Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong working knowledge of Windows 7, RDP, AD, MS Exchange, Hyper-V, Citrix, Server 212, Exchange 2007, remote access and terminal services.
