Lionbridge, specialising in Technical Writing and Content Creation, have anew opportunity for a Technical Administrator to work on Aero Engine Manufacturing documentation, based in Derby. This is a team based role and will be spent at the customer site (within the Derby area) liaising closely with key customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Technical Administrator will support the department's requirement to provide visibility of and rapid resolution of issues related to engineering data. This will allow the department to improve response times to their customers, aid on-time delivery and provide early warning of any risks to the project team. Use of a comprehensive tracking tool to enable improved management of data retrieval and ensure issue visibility Administer Technical Databases Use of in-house bespoke IT systems to tracking/monitor, create and maintain records of engineering data issues and to ensuring accuracy of data Attend face to face sessions with agreed owners to discuss and agree timescales Liaise/co-0rdinate with engineers and subject matter experts on engineering issues Prioritisation of issues affecting immediate task delivery to support program Produce metrics and charts to allow for process improvements with respect to process deliverables Co-ordinate engineering data issues with supplier project management at governance There is a requirement to work to designated timescales, approved project procedures, according to project schedules and to maintain the high level of quality required by the customer Other duties/activities as may reasonably be requested in relation to customer requirements EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum of GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) This role is open to technical administrators with good IT skills and technical dexterity IT skills, including working experience of word processing/database packages as well familiarity with email and internet communications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint Experience of working as part of a team Preferred experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good working knowledge of database applications A good technical communicator with good interpersonal skills Able to work with minimum supervision Strong attention to detail and able to maintain group focus Able to adapt quickly to new processes and systems This role requires you to obtain a Disclosure Scotland Certificate, before commencing employment within Lionbridge.
