Planning & Resource Manager - Stafford - £75,000, 20% bonus, Company Car, BUPA healthcare, 10% pension, 25 days holiday Do you want to help shape a planning department? If you're the type of person who loves identifying areas for process improvement and driving change then this role could be perfect for you We're looking for an experienced Planning and Resource Manager to ensure successful delivery of project plans for a variety of large industrial/ infrastructure projects. The business enjoys a turnover in the billions and has operations all around the globe. This business unit offers industry-leading electrical infrastructure solutions to the National Grid and other large industrial clients in the UK. Projects can be anything from new wind farm connections, emerging technologies such as battery storage, new factories, etc. As projects are becoming more diverse there is a need to change their approach to project planning. It is important to create an environment where client requirements are at the heart of the plans. Moving away from a 'one size fits all' approach to a more tailored solution. My client requires someone who is ambitious. The ability to motivate people is essential and the successful person will help to shape and refine the planning department. Feedback from all tenders must be used to constantly appraise performance and use the information gained to continually improve. Previous experience of producing plans for large 132kV-400kV substation builds is beneficial, though candidates from a heavy industry or construction background are encouraged to apply. It is also essential to have strong commercial awareness (P&L management, subcontractors, NEC3, etc.). Responsibilities: Ensure effective planning for all projects and tenders. Ensure programme change control is exercised across all projects. Have a strong appreciation of contracts (NEC3), codes of practice and standards. Provide consistent and proactive programme generation, progress updates, analysis and reporting at delivery team project and business level. Shape and develop effective planning team to meet flexible business demands, with team members owning and driving the programme. Seek out and anticipate client requirements - both internally and externally. Produce project risk evaluation reports and communicate internally to senior management. Requirements: Previous experience of planning 132kV-400kV power projects is beneficial, though candidates from a heavy industry or construction background are encouraged to apply. Project planning software experience; MS Project, Primavera P6, etc. Computer literacy - Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communications skills. An engineering qualification HNC or above.
