Warehouse / Stock Control Assistant

One of the UK's leading independent IT service and software solution providers to the UK Corporate Hospitality market, our Customers are groups including pubs, clubs, restaurants and hotels.

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly personable Logistics Support Controller who has a proven record within stock control including a background in IT / Warehousing and Distribution to join our dynamic and expanding team. You will be responsible for assisting our Logistics Manager whilst liaising with Engineers to ensure that boot stock levels are maintained. You will be required to work against demanding KPl's in a service led environment and champion process throughout the operation.

You will play an integral part in ensuring that the company's stock integrity is maintained and through an analytical and logical approach highlight and investigate stock discrepancies to provide accurate stock records. Your key objective will be to maintain that stock losses and errors are kept to an absolute minimum.

You will need strong organisational skills and an analytical and logical approach to problem solving. Excellent IT competencies are essential, specifically within Microsoft Excel and the use of stock programs however, training will be provided.

Main Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Assisting in the booking in and out of stock to employees - ensuring that all relevant documentation is in place and all Company processes followed.
  • Implementation of effective stocktaking schedules, systems and procedures.
  • Dropping off and collecting stock to the relevant repairer.
  • Dropping off and collecting stock to Company Engineers (please be aware that our Engineers are based in a variety of locations spread throughout the UK)
  • Assisting in the day to day running of all aspects of the warehouse staging/repairs, stock control, stock management in line with the business needs and development.
  • Maintaining and developing efficiencies through continuous improvements.

Essential Skills required will be:

  • Full UK drivers licence for manual vehicles
  • Good communication skills (Both verbal and written)
  • Basic computer skills (word and excel)
  • Previous stock control position/Knowledge

Advantageous skills

  • Interest in IT would be useful due to the components and stock we deal with on a day to day basis.
  • Previous experience in using stock programs and report making. 

Please be aware that this role will involve working 5 days out of 7 days, which may include some weekends and bank holidays, this role will also have access to a pool Company Vehicle and fuel card as and when required for the movement of stock.
