Continental Engineering Services (CES), part of Continental’s Automotive Group, is aligned across its three divisions of Chassis & Safety, Powertrain and Interior - with a focus on applying their products and knowhow in different market segments such as niche vehicles, new market entrants, and non-automotive. As an engineering services provider CES’s activities are both broad and deep, including leading engineering feasibility studies and prototype product development; vehicle integration, conversion and build; and series production programs – both in the focus segments, and for local major OEMs. As a product supplier, CES can adapt Continental Automotive Group's existing components and systems, or take a clean sheet of paper approach - and produce them in its own manufacturing facility that is focused on cost effective small batch production and special solutions. Our 1200 developers at 14 locations worldwide cover all engineering disciplines. Our customers include sports car and electric vehicle manufactures, niche vehicle manufacturers, local major OEMs, motorsport, and those outside of the automotive industry. In the UK, CES is located in Lichfield at the modern facility of Zytek Automotive that it acquired fully in 2014. Zytek is perhaps best known for its products and expertise in conventional and electric/hybrid vehicle powertrains. Chassis and Interior teams have also been established to reflect the needs of the market, and the structure of CES. The business is involved in a wide range of technically-challenging projects both within and outside the automotive sector, including development, testing, manufacturing, motorsport, and OEM prototype vehicle build. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Manager to grow our engineering services and products business in the UK market. Candidates will ideally have a background in the automotive industry for electronic products & systems and a excellent network with UK OEMs. Duties will include: Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with leaders, decision makers, and key employees externally (at customers) and internally (within CES and Continental) Single Point of Contact: Live the role as single point of contact at the customer for new and existing business - take ownership of opportunities and issues, and drive to closure Brand Advocate: Educate and inform customers of the competencies, experience and portfolio of services and products that CES have to offer locally and globally Customer Advocate: Market and support your customers internally at CES Lead Generation: Generate an opportunity pipeline of RFQs (Request For Quotation), RFIs (Request For Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposals) from customers Acquisition Lead: Drive the internal team to respond accurately, timely, and competitively to RFQ/I/Ps Project Lifecycle Support: Support CES development project teams for all customer commercial and legal topics, and to build credibility and trust at customers Sales Planning and Reporting: for your customer portfolio Market Analysis: Customers / Service & Product Needs / White Spots / Sales Process: Lead all aspects of the sales process from RFQ; quotes; and monetary claims CES Segment Alignment: Regular bi-directional alignment with CES segments on strategy. Skill Set: Automotive Electronic Systems Sales / Business Development experience is desirable UK Automotive Industry (niche and larger OEM) Engineering/Purchasing network desirable.
