On target to achieve £7 million growth during 2017, my client is looking to strengthen the Works Department by recruiting an experienced Works Foreman to join the team. Works Foreman: You will manage and supervise various Blue-collar Engineers (fabricators, welders, pipefitters, polishers, sheet metal workers, stores and van drivers). Lead health & safety and project start-up meetings, coordinating projects. Your role will also involve motivating the workforce, assessing productivity, labour control, employee assessment, material procurement, organising, planning, scheduling, quality control and daily / weekly meetings. Review engineering drawings and to organise to procurement of materials such as stainless steel. Schedule work, issue job cards and to ensure materials & tools are available for all work to be carried out. Sign-off time sheets and to oversee any problems with engineering such as incorrect dimensions, quality of fabrications, welding issues etc. Control engineering departments ensuring large fabricated equipment has been designed and fabricated to the client’s specification. Providing daily technical support, identify skill gaps and to train Apprentices. Experience & Background: An experienced Works Foreman, Works Supervisor, Works Manager, Production Manager, Factory Manager type background. Apprentice / time served. Stainless steel or process (tanks, vessels & pipework background) background, ideally both. Must be able to read engineering drawings and possess supervisory / leadership skills.
