Our Submarines Business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems in support of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. As an EVM and Cost Management Specialist you will be responsible for the prescription of the methods and processes for Earned Value Management and Cost Management and then advocating their use, training users, rolling them out into the programmes, and then ensuring their correct use. As such you need to be an expert in your field, with good communication skills and the ability to manage all levels of stakeholders. Key Accountabilities - Developing, implementing, and assuring the Business' holistic EVM and Cost Management Capability, against an Industry Standard. - Producing, maintaining and communicating the EVM and Cost Management Strategy - Capability, Organisational Design, Toolsets, Process and Assurance. - Developing appropriate EVM Cost Reports to support internal and supplier Cost Management, problem solving and forecasting. - Representing RR Submarines at RR Global EVM Forums. - Supporting Campaigns to ensure that EVM and Cost Management are set at the outset of the Contract. - Supporting Campaigns with Customer interface when required. - Developing an approach to implementing behavioural practices that support effective and timely Cost Management across the business. - Assurance of Programmes via Product Introduction & Lifecycle Management and Integrated Business Review (IBR) Processes. Qualifications - Experience of complex Engineering Programmes. - Capability development experience of a Programme Management discipline - ideally EVM and Cost Management. - Single-source MoD Contracting experience. - Line Management experience. - Complex Programme and Operational Stakeholder management. - Change/Transformation Management experience. - Accreditation to a recognised professional cost estimating and or programme management organisation, or working towards this. - Educated to degree level or equivalent and membership of a professional body would be advantageous.
