Location: Derby (potential for 1 or 2 days home working) Initial 3 month contract with possibility of extension or permanent opportunities Must be available for immediate start Do you want to work on a large scale, high value project for a leading global organisation? Our client is looking for a high-energy; results oriented individual to handle all of the procurement requirements for two new multi-million pound, overseas contracts – one in the USA, and one in SE Asia. This critical role will be responsible for all aspects of sourcing for these two projects, requiring the skills to distil retail and engineering team requirements into product specifications, identify and contact potential suppliers, successfully negotiate pricing whilst maintaining payment terms, manage the internal approval of any new suppliers, expedite and support the delivery of products, ensure rigorous quality assurance of new products, and facilitate sign-off of the project by the customer. Equally important are the communication and stakeholder management skills required to continuously provide progress reports to key internal stakeholders globally highlighting lead times and statuses, the ability to identify potential issues ahead of time, and the independence of mind to construct potential solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Provide input to plans and strategies for key new projects to satisfy business priorities. • Be the single pojnt of contact for all procurement matters relating to the new contracts for internal stakeholders such as the project team, senior managers and the wider procurement team. • Construct a holistic procurement plan for the projects, clearly detailing deadlines and milestones. • Place all orders for equipment and services, and manage delivery to agreed timescales and quality. • Provide continual progress reporting to various internal stakeholders such as the project team, senior managers and the wider procurement team. Skills and Experience: • Experience in procurement within the USA, and preferably in south-east Asia too. • Proven negotiation, legal contracts and facilitation skills; • Analytical, data driven approach with an attention to detail; • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); • Technology industry category expertise; • Project implementation in global environments This is an excellent opportunity to work for a fast moving global organization where high achieving, individuals thrive.
