The Head Chef / Catering Manager to join established team at activity centre. £22,300 per annum Shift pattern including weekends from 7am-3pm or 11am-7pm on rotation. The Head Chef / Catering Manager will lead, organise and develop the kitchen, inspiring others with a passionate enthusiasm for freshly prepared, seasonal food. Ensure all members of the kitchen staffs are trained in all aspects of menu, equipment and procedures. Reduce waste and maximise margins in line with food standards set by management. To manage and control costs to agreed budget. To manage stock control systems and to be responsible for ordering food orders. To Lead and deliver a food safe environment compliant with Company Health and Safety Policies. As a key member of the senior management team, providing the link between the front of house and the back of house liaising with colleagues to deliver the most exceptional experience for the customers. To plan and prepare work rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels to ensure a smooth operation. To manage the day to day food administration ensuring system compliance. To hold monthly regular meetings with kitchen staff to communicate standards and new protocols. To work closely with other departments to deliver functions and events to customer specifications. To ensure cleaning schedules are written, implemented and reviewed as necessary. To amend as necessary and manage Risk Assessments across the kitchen. Ensure all kitchen equipment is well maintained and is in good working order. Candidates will have: Strong people management skills combined with a proven ability in management and communication. A self-motivated and proactive hands-on approach with the ability to multi task and problem solve. A confident, professional and welcoming personality. Candidates Must: Hold either a NVQ level 3 or 4 in Hospitality, Catering or relevant sector. Hold Full Driving Licence and have own Transportation. Must have experience with stock control, budgeting, reducing waste and maximising margins in line with food standards set by management.
