ROLE PURPOSE The Configuration and Design data management team controls Design product structure configuration for the incorporation of a Bill Of Material (BOM) in order to aid Engine delivery for Civil Large Engines, serving new product Introduction (NPI) and Fleet Programmes. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES (Please list in order of priority) - Understanding the design change by referring to Design Definition Reports, Pipe Routing, Scheme drawings and Design Assembly Part models. - Implementing the design change into the Configuration bill of material using itemising guide and incorporating the same Product data management and Definitions in customer tools as per the Air Transport Agency (ATA) publication standards. - Co-ordinating Configuration queries between Design and Configuration teams. - Updating necessary customer trackers. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) Experience - Working experience of aero engines bill of material (BOM). - Good Aero Engine familiarisation, Maintenance, and overhaul knowledge. - An understanding of Aero Engine after-design downstream work systems. - Experience in identifying the relationship between assembly parts, sub-assembly parts and attaching parts. - Experience in Unigraphics/NX. Qualifications - Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering subject preferably Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive groups. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, DESIRABLE TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) - TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED Experience - An understanding of Aero Engine Publication's and Air Transport Agency (ATA) standards. - An understanding of Aero Engine certification requirements SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of numeracy. - Excellent Computer Literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office tools - Ability to communicate effectively with customers and a diverse staff population. - Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary information. - Must be confident, resourceful, highly organised and be able to work with little direct intervention - Self-starter able to work well within a large team - Ability to train and mentor new engineers once experienced. - Ability to contribute to knowledge sharing sessions. - Pro-active planning skills to support delivery
