Job Introduction
BBC English Regions is responsible for all local radio, television and online output in England. Working to the TV Editor, we are looking to appoint a member of staff to schedule all technical staff within Look North and Radio Newcastle in conjunction with the relevant Editorial management.

BBC Look North is one of the most watched regional news programmes on BBC One serving a diverse audience across the North East. Our audiences expect the highest standards from all of our programmes on tv, radio and online across the whole day. We pride ourselves on high production values and generating stories that really matter to our audience. All our journalists work in a multi-platform way making the best use of new technology to share content across all our outlets.

Role Responsibility
The Scheduler is responsible for ensuring that the business workload is met by suitably skilled and experienced staff through liaising closely with both programme managers and teams.

You will create efficient day to day schedules, in line with programming strategy and priorities and effectively manage all leave. You will also be expected to administer and manage all documents and reports associated with this process.

The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced scheduler, with strong people skills, who is able to drive effective and positive working relationships with a wide range of clients, colleagues and staff.

Your organisational and planning skills will be exceptional and you will have a very high level of attention to detail. You will also be a first class communicator, capable of delivering complex information in an accessible way, to a range of people. We will be looking out for innovative in solving problems.

It is vital that you are able to work in a flexible manner, in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You will need to respond to situations quickly to accommodate changing needs, at very short notice. An understanding of our programmes is desirable.

You will be competent using a variety of computer software packages and if possible have knowledge of Workplace Software (in addition to the standard MS Office packages), to manage the channel schedules. The Scheduler is also required to collate reports and data to help develop future scheduling strategies.
