Operations Manager - Full Time Maternity Cover min 9 months

The Role

Award-winning animal charity, Pet Blood Bank UK, is recruiting for a maternity cover Operations Manager (min 9 months) who will report into the Head of Operations and manage the smooth running of the PBB through all day-to-day activities. Based in Loughborough, this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to further their experience in a unique environment.

Pet Blood Bank UK is the only charity of its kind that provides a canine blood bank service, helping to save the lives of many loyal companions across the UK. Similar to the human blood service, donation sessions are held nationwide for large dog owners to bring along their pets to give blood. The blood is then taken to PBB's state of the art processing centre in Loughborough where it is separated into red blood cells and plasma products, and then stored ready for despatch. Now in its 10th year, the charity has over 8,000 canine donors registered and growing at an exponential rate as media attention increases.

The Candidate

With strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills, the successful candidate will be confident in their ability to effectively manage both the operational and compliance aspects of the PBB business. This is a rewarding and challenging role demanding excellent client liaison skill, volunteer co-ordination ability, admin management and staff rota co-ordination. The Operations Manager leads and mentors a highly experienced and dedicated team, supporting the Head of Operations, Head of Clinical and Professional Services and the Veterinary Supervisor.

You'll be an experienced Operations Manager, ideally within a sector requiring a high degree of compliance and transparency which will meet the standards of rigorous external auditing. A confident user of all Microsoft Office packages, the successful candidate will also have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, a proactive and enthusiastic approach and an aptitude for stakeholder management. The ability to empathise with the pet owning public is essential. Some travel is expected and therefore it is essential you hold a clean, full driving licence
