The Role: Due to the continued expansion of our products and client base we are keen to grow our IT Infrastructure and Service Continuity team, As an IT Infrastructure and Service Continuity Technician you will support the IT Infrastructure and Service Continuity Team Leader and others in the IT Strategy and Transition department to manage: - The data centre infrastructure and hardware in line with business needs. - The implementation of best practices and continued innovation. - Co-ordinating the development, maintenance, review and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for each business unit. Responsibilities will include: - Supporting the team leader to deliver business continuity. - o Identifying potential threats to the business. - o Assessing the impacts to business operations that those threats, if realized, might cause. - o Providing a framework for building organisational resilience. - o Safeguarding the interests of the key stakeholders, reputation, brand and value-creating activities. - Supporting our IT hardware and data centre facilities: - o Providing assistance for incidents, changes and requests in accordance with agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements). - o Regular monitoring and inspection of data centre facilities and hardware. - o Co-ordinating external third-parties during on-site visits to our data centres. - o Transporting IT equipment between sites. - o Server hardware installation. - o Network cabling. - o Hardware decommissioning. - Delivering an exceptional degree of customer service ensuring that our customers benefit from clear communications and effective resolution. A successful applicant will have: - A genuine interest in information technology. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships - Ability to work equally effectively as part of an established team and on own initiative - An aptitude for both efficient and accurate working. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - The ability to identify, analyse and troubleshoot problems. - A willingness to work independently when required and to manage multiple priorities. - A full UK driving license.
