Project Manager - Leading Vehicle Manufacturer Due to significant new projects, we are seeking a Project / Programme Manager, to join this leading vehicle manufacturer. West Midlands - Commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Tamworth, Cannock, Nottingham, Stafford, Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Chesterfield Circa £40-45k Excellent Benefits As Project Manager you will coordinate the communication and documentation flow, including Project timings, Gateways, and Costing Plans between the New Product Introduction (NPI), Design & Development, Engineering and the European Commodity Purchasing teams. The Role Reporting to the Head of Programmes you will be responsible for: - Creating and developing programme timing plans - Manage content of APQP / PPAP - Assist in identifying manufacturing process changes to improve efficiencies and team potential. - Manage resources in tandem with internal business function to deliver programmes. - Control, track and report programme status through the programme life. - Build relationships with internal and external suppliers. - Present monthly updates including support data and problem resolution. - Maximise the commercial potential of each customer programme ensuring the business case is strong through the product-development process. The Candidate - Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record within Project Management in a high value low volume manufacturing environment. - Manage project timing and gateway plans you must be able to present detailed costing timing plans to agreed deadlines. - Detailed knowledge of APQP / PPAP processes including construction of supporting documents. - Target-driven and self-starting. - Natural leader, competent in building a team with hands-on approach. - Good general commercial awareness, clearly able to demonstrate negotiation experience and delivery of the negotiations. - Represent the department at periodic presentations to Directors, Chief Engineers and Senior Managers. - Good general knowledge of vehicle / component design and manufacture. - Awareness of latest manufacturing processes / techniques for a variety of materials and designs. - The successful candidate must be able to show a clear ability to plan, coordinate and prioritise workload.
