We are seeking an IT Field Support Engineer that will work with our commercial clients to provide hardware technical and break fix support on Laptops, Desktops, Servers, etc. ensuring all contractual SLA's are met and delivered in a timely manner. All tasks should be completed in line with company technical and quality standards and procedures and to provide a high degree of customer satisfaction. Engineers will be called out to resolve issues as they occur, the use of a company van will be provided. Responsibilities: - Undertake fault diagnosis, basic troubleshooting and ensure effective Break fix of Laptops, PCs and Printers - Escalate calls within given time guidelines. - Knowledge of operating systems, hardware and commonly used software and standard applications. - Install and test desktop products. - Perform backups and restores as well as data transfer on PCs, or laptops - Carry out upgrades and conversions including replacement of component parts e.g. keyboards, monitors, disks etc. - Able to repair basic software configuration and set up problems. - To provide technical support; answering support queries either onsite or via phone or email. - To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to IT Policies and Procedures. - To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues. - To log all calls on the call logging system - Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems. - Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected. Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice. - To escalate more complex service issues to the relevant IT personnel. - Troubleshooting & Problem Solving of Workstation related problems - Implementing, managing and maintaining Workstations 7/8/10. - Implementing & Support of MS Office 2007-2016 products incl. but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint. - Installation of Desktop IP Phones. - Installation and Support of Network & Local Printers. - Required to work long hours from time to time. - Basic MS Active Directory Knowledge - Setups of smart phones - Ability to do remote support Technical skills required: - Excellent skills in user IT infrastructure - Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Handhelds, Smartphone etc. - Sufficient skills to provide Hands and Feet support for server and network environment. - Proven technical skills in Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and business productivity applications i.e. Office Administration experience of MS Active Directory users & groups, policies and management concepts. - Effective communication in English Knowledge and Experience: Typically, secondary/ high school qualified with a relevant technical qualification and 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
