Excellent Salary, Bonus & Company Benefits plus a flexible benefits scheme Job Description RAC are currently looking to further enhance our Demand Forecasting & Usage team in Walsall. We have a role that will challenge you, that will present you with fantastic exposure within the core function of our business and one that will have high visibility within our UK Super Brand. This role is all about big data sets and will be tasked with forecasting long, medium and short term demand for service breakdowns for the whole RAC business at a granular level, while managing a team of analysts. You will be supporting the Operations Function through effective management of data and information that is used in forecast and usage modelling and you will be a functional expert in usage performance and trends. Role purpose We are looking for an analytical expert who will take responsibility for: - Managing the compilation of a rolling National monthly forecast of demand for service breakdowns for 18 months - Tracking actual experience and report variances to forecast in order to monitor accuracy and to feed into forecasting revisions and refinements - Leading on and explaining changes in forecast based on insight (historic and forward looking) - trends in usage rates, filesize, mix, external factors etc. - Leading on and developing forecasting further with greater forward looking insight, to include economic data, technical improvements/impacts, legal requirement, partner strategies etc - Taking account of historical weather in compiling forecasts such that the forecasts reflect normal weather for each month of the year - Leading on the ownership and production of usage models and analysis, suitable for demand forecasting as well as Business Services (BS) & individual memberships (IM) pricing needs - Managing recommendations of usage rates to support all new business / renewal /retender pricing activity - Liaison with key business areas to ensure that inputs into forecasting are up to date and understood, and that outputs are communicated effectively. Strong relationships therefore required with BS and IM finance teams, and Resourcing & Rostering team - Management of the Demand Forecasting team to ensure accountabilities are delivered accuracy and on time. Also ensuring individuals are suitably developed. Skills, Knowledge and qualifications The successful applicant will possess: To be considered you will need to possess: - Proven background working in a highly analytical position - In-depth knowledge of analysis techniques - Strong modelling skills notably Excel, SQL and statistical software packages - Highly numerate with strong analytical & problem solving skills - Understanding of financial issues - Team management experience - Love of data and big data sets - Strong stakeholder capability Keen to start speaking with great commercial analysts, forecasting analysts, data scientists, data technicians Please note - this is not a finance analyst position.
