Working hours: Permanent, full-time.
Our client manufactures an exciting range of systems for the construction, automotive, acoustic and audio markets, exporting to numerous countries around the world. They are a leading manufacturer of engineered facade and roofing systems to the architectural sector, complemented by a comprehensive range of fasteners, load bearing components and accessories. They have full in-house testing facilities, as well as 3D design and engineering analysis and also produce a broad range of acoustic mesh and perforated components for the automotive, architectural and audio markets, specialising in visual imaging on facades as well as aesthetic diffusion and absorption solutions.

THE ROLE- Quality Manager (Mechanical) - West Bromwich, West Midlands
This role, reporting to Production Manager, will help to achieve ultimate aim of "best in class", ensuring product and service provide the highest level of quality that meets / exceeds customer expectation and ensuring that Quality key objectives are achieved and exceeded. Being focussed to improve all processes in order to manage and improve quality, reduce cost, improve sustainability and ultimately maximise profitability. Working with the Group Quality Manager to ensure compliance to all accreditation and approval standards, be the face of Ash and Lacy Building Systems for all quality related matters, both internal and external and support the wider Ash and Lacy group of companies, ensuring optimum co-operation with other ALBS divisions and commercial teams, exploiting group potential.

Key responsibilities for the Quality Manager (Mechanical) - in West Bromwich, West Midlands to include:
Develop and support the operations management with regards Key Performance Indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and quality performance. Such to be focussed but not exclusive to quality and process / productivity
Be the client contact with regards quality, attend sites to fully understand and evaluate issues. Develop and implement containment and improvement measures to swiftly deal with issues. Utilise root cause to facilitate improvement to prevent re-occurrence
Use data to identify opportunities for improvement and quality process management. Present data to show improvement achieved and the effect on Quality and Cost performance of the business
Support new product introduction, through the linking of departments to ensure robust and holistic approach to engineering change, and new product introduction, through the validation of process routes and the agreement of clear defined standards
Own the root cause process of Internal and External generated issues. Ensure formal approach to root cause evaluation and reporting undertaken to ensure that improvement "Locked" into the approach and standard of the business to prevent re-occurrence
Maintain and controlling necessary calibration and approval documentation for all testing and measurement equipment
Provide compliance audits to ensure processes maintained to quality standards and that employees and process comply


CANDIDATE- Quality Manager (Mechanical) - West Bromwich, West Midlands
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working within a similar role from a Quality/process engineering/manufacturing improvement environment and be educated to an engineering, mechanical, or related subject, degree level. You will have experience of introducing measurable and effective quality process improvements, and strong organisational and management skills with the ability to work alone or as part of a team in a challenging but rewarding environment.

KEY CRITERIAS- Quality Manager (Mechanical) - West Bromwich, West Midlands
Proven experience in a Quality role from a process engineering / manufacturing or Automotive environment
Experience of working within a ISO900 or ISO9001 environment
Demonstrable experience of introducing measurable and effective quality process improvements
Analytical with ability to communicate well to all levels of the business and external bodies / customers
Excellent organisational skills, thorough, reliable, dependable and trustworthy
Strong organisational and reporting skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
HNC / Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical or Civil)
Lead auditor for ISO9001, including 2015 transition
