GBP53,995 - GBP67,493 + Car Allowance & Excellent Benefits Based Wythall, South Birmingham (B47) 9 Month Fixed Term Contract Closing date:05 July 2017 at midnight Ref: 2795 The Role specifics: This role reports into the Senior Projects Reporting Manager and day to day activities include: Proactively and constructively challenging and reviewing all project expenses and benefits throughout all stages of the project lifecycle submissions for all strategic projects or those over GBP1m, escalating findings to Group and Phoenix CEO as appropriate. Monitoring and challenging overall change budget / forecasts, for both costs and benefits (on different accounting basis), using experience and initiative to identify key issues and areas for debate, ensuring prompt action required is escalated when any adverse variances occur. Creation and production of enhanced MI to allow governance forums and senior stakeholders to make informed decisions, ensuring that the MI undergoes a continuous improvement approach to meet ever changing & challenging requirements. Oversight of financials during the month end process, challenging the project community to ensure robust and accurate results. Oversight of the guidance to Project Managers and Sponsors in the application of project governance and change requests for authorisation of project and small change spend. What we are looking for: Having previously held a strong stakeholder business facing accounting role, we are keen for the successful candidate to demonstrate the following: Qualified accountant with significant experience in a commercial environment. To have an in-depth understanding of ServCo business model, its drivers and environment in which it operates. Detailed knowledge and experience of a Change Framework, with associated processes and procedures, including techniques/disciplines used to plan, monitor and control projects from initiation through to delivery. Strong communication, investigative and analytical skills with people at all levels of the organisation, being able to explain accountancy terms to non-accountants. Strong PC literacy, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, SmartCore and TM1. Ability to independently collate, analyse and interpret information including financial data, for management reporting and decision-making purposes with demonstrable attention to detail, in a timely manner and presenting where required the outcomes to the Project Reporting Manager for review. Awareness of the Regulatory & Legal frameworks in relation to Life Company products and administration beneficial. N.B.
