Person Specification
The successful applicant will be a creative Science graduate who has at least received a 2:1 in your degree and already spent time in a role where you worked closely with children. It is essential for you to possess a drive to excite everyone about the joys of learning, and the future benefits of a positive school education. This post requires a graduate who has the skills to display the knowledge to become a teacher and communicate their ideals effectively to their pupils.

About the Role
In this exciting Physics Teaching Assistant position you will be supporting teaching and learning throughout the Science Department. You will guide pupils who have a statement of SEN through the curriculum and other aspects of school life. With a Class Teacher available to support your development, you will be in the ideal place to begin to develop vital teaching skills and approaches. Your department will have access to superb resources and equipment, yet perhaps its greatest asset is the exceptional Head of Science. This role involves you leading intervention sessions to small groups of pupils who benefit from the extra support in Literacy and Numeracy. The standard of teaching in this department has led to it becoming one of the most popular within the school. Your role will require you to support the class as and when required, giving you a better understanding of the different educational styles available.

The School
Join a school that understands the problems SEN children face, and has developed an effective approach to helping them stay focused and develop social skills. The high standards imposed by this secondary make it the first choice for parents in the area, and is regularly oversubscribed. It maintains an open, inclusive entry qualification and has excellent links with the local community. Ofsted have recently awarded the school an impressive all-round 'Good' grade; everyone here is now excited about building on that foundation to go that final step.
