Our client are an extremely reputable aerospace manufacturing business located in the heart of Derbyshire. They offer component solutions to large high profile aerospace customers across the globe and provide both fabrication and machining.

Job Summary
Identifying and carrying out operational improvements as part of a comprehensive business improvement programme, to transform the way the company organises and controls production focusing on quality, cost, delivery and safety. Support improvement of business performance using Continuous Improvement activities within Engineering, to drive manufacturing processes towards identified best practice.

Required skills and Competences
• Responsible for technical conformity of all products, providing technical documentation, introducing new capabilities while maintaining and developing Methods of Manufacture.
• All of the above is a requirement to assist in the creation of estimates and quotes.
• Good working knowledge of Document control to include ECR, NDA, DAR, Concession, Data Card, SOP, and CCW processes.
• Avante input of BOM's, Routing's, Rework Planning/Changes.
• You will be required to deliver continuous improvement by identifying and targeting waste reduction opportunities within all aspects of the business to improve operational productivity and efficiency.
• Mentoring, coaching and nurturing of Lean culture (such as 5S, Visual Management, Six Sigma, Mistake Proofing, TPM, Goal Deployment, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), etc.
• Lead and facilitate cross functional teams to achieve breakthrough in process performance with demonstrated deliverables reflected in operational KPI's
• Facilitates data gathering, scope development, and event planning in preparation for any Kaizen and continuous improvement event.
• Work closely with Operations in order to identify Capital Spend requirements and support the preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests
• Maintain oversight responsibility for effective implementation of the continuous improvement efforts of the organization and monitors results via business metrics/customer satisfaction.
• Works closely with operations, materials, and suppliers to help drive supply chain improvement initiatives, such as defect reduction, Kanban, and JIT material delivery programs.
• Regular presentation and reporting to senior management of project/improvement status, results and progress against objectives
• Define standardised procedures for all key processes and ensure adherence to them
• Actively support the corporate Operational Excellence initiatives in both content and deliverable gains
• Work with suppliers to implement continuous improvement projects benefitting the company
• Support New Product Introduction activities, ensuring new capabilities and methods of manufacture to achieve the required level of readiness to enable buy-off within the agreed time scale.
• Proficient in the creation and submission of Manufacturing Launch Plans ensuring customer technical feedback is adhered to in a timely manner.

• Represent the company during customer or supplier events.
• The ability to aid technical problem resolution and improvement activities within Engineering to drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice.
