Job Description


As a Deskside Engineer, you will provide 2nd level deskside support for IMAC and Change Management at a major oil installation in North East England. You will work as part of the customer's IT group, enabling it to meet its service commitments. This includes discharging your duties within established work plans and contributing to their development by providing input on new work requests and prioritizing work commitments. You will support, advise, and back-up other members of the Group IT team by responding to day-to-day faults.


?? Provide day to day support to Intel/Windows users via Remedy and direct customer liaison

?? Maintain the Remedy Service Desk ticketing system

?? Carry out project work as necessary

?? Provide back-up for other group members engaged in project work

?? Travel between sites may be required with mileage allowance paid

  • Must have a full driving licence and driven in the UK


  • Strong demonstrable troubleshooting skills
  • Good general IT knowledge and basic Networking
  • Windows Desktop OS; Office 2003, 2007, 2010
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Windows Security Administration
  • Desktop / Printer troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to adapt to new technologies
