My client school have contacted Edustaff to help them recruit a graduate of English to join them from September as a Teaching Assistant. This position is working full time (during term time) and will probably run for the full academic year or at least until examination time.

The school provide a high standard of education to girls aged 11-19. Their English department is led by one of the school's Assistant Principals and contains 6 full time teachers as well as support staff. There is a good mix of experienced and newly qualified teachers in the department offering a range of help and support to anyone joining them.

The role of Teaching Assistant is to work closely with their GCSE pupils in years 10 and 11. You will be tasked with ensuring the pupils you work with are reaching their learning objectives as well as fully understanding the current topic(s) as laid out by their teacher. In addition to the traditional role of a teaching assistant this role requires a more structured and involved approach, often working with small groups of pupils away from their normal class. The main goal of this position is to ensure that pupils are reaching their full potential in English and are successful when they come to sit their GCSE exams as well as maintain a high level of course work throughout the year.

The school are keen to recruit a Teaching Assistant with the right attitude and importantly a graduate that is looking to train in the future as a secondary teacher. If this sounds like you then please send in your CV
