As a Senior Reporting Analyst at HS2 you will join an expanding and dynamic team to lead the reporting activities at an AREA level within the Phase One programme of HS2 and provide this as an embedded service under Project Controls. Project Controls is responsible for producing and maintaining the overall Phase One integrated schedule, cost plan, risk registers and change log. Your role includes collecting, consolidating, verifying and analysing reporting data from the assigned area (for example Area South, Area Central, Area North or other) and producing high quality progress reports, as well as supporting the Data Manager to champion the 'virtual data analytics' community. The reporting team is undergoing signifficant growth and you will ultimately manage deliverables from up to four direct reports, each assigned to a sector within the specified area. About the role:
To lead the reporting activities at an AREA level to collect, consolidate, verify the analysis of reporting data across the AREA and produce informative monthly progress reports. Set objectives, review performance and ensure the AREA team have the necessary skills to deliver a consistent reporting. Support the Reporting Manager and Head of Project Controls with the production of Area specific high quality publications and ad hoc reports, as required. Ensure the monthly PMC reporting arrangements are communicated clearly across the AREA, so employees understand how and when reports are generated and used, and what inputs need to be provided, and when. Contribute to the analysis of reports to articulate key trends, and issues by summary narrative, to inform business decisions. Support the core team on projects as required and become a Phase One lead for reporting of key disciplines, e.g. Cost, Programme, Risk, etc. Work collaboratively with the Systems and Data Manager, to support the virtual Data Analytics Team and ensure alignment of reporting to the ' Phase One Data Strategy' . Support the Systems Project Manager, to ensure reporting systems remain ' best-in-breed' and support the Quality Manager to assure the reports are consistent, timely and accurate. Contribute to the development of key systems to deliver automation where possible.
About You:
Understanding and experience of the value and opportunities of reporting to organisations and large delivery programmes. Comfortable analysing information and producing accurate, timely and informative reports in multiple formats. High degree of literacy and numeracy coupled with attention to detail. Excellent communications skills with ability to establish effective working relationships across different levels of the organisation. Able to plan and manage a busy workload, while managing the priorities and expectations of involved stakeholders. Degree qualified, or equivalent.
