Team Leader / Chargehand Permanent £36,500 per annum pension expenses Walsall Are you an experienced Team Leader or Chargehand who has led teams of 4 or more? Have you lots of experience of, and enjoy working within the Exhibition and Events Industry? Do you love the opportunity to work lots of overtime in order to maximise your take home pay? The Company: My client is an independent supplier and installer of bespoke flooring solutions for exhibitions across the UK and Europe and they are looking to recruit multiple Chargehands or Team Leaders, to join their very successful and growing business. The Job: Reporting directly into the Project Manager, you will be tasked with managing installation teams, varying in size, but approximately 4 - 8 workers, on varying indoor and outdoor exhibitions and events. You will ensure a professional image is maintained and OTIF (on time in full) expectations are met, as this organisation is under a lot more pressure than other exhibition suppliers due to being first on site. Some of your responsibilities will include: - Pre show preparation duties using carpentry based tools and machines. - Pre show planning with Contract Managers - Manage a team of installers in locations throughout the UK and sometimes abroad - Monitor the allocation of labour to ensure that the tasks they carry out are within their level of skill and experience - Site carpentry and construction of various types and installation of flooring systems. - Professional communication with customers and suppliers - Be able to read and understand site plans and construction drawings - Ensure all employees wear the defined PPE at all times when on site - Undertake any key H&S duty as appointed by the Project/Site Manager - Driving company vehicles to and from installations The Candidate: Due to the nature of this industry, you will be expected to work away from home quite regularly sometimes up to 2-3 weeks at a time. Therefore, this role will suit someone who currently works in the exhibition and events industry or construction industry as having experience of this lifestyle is essential. At peak times you could be working up to 65 hours a week and the minimum you will ever work is 45 hours so if you are motivated to earn plenty of money through overtime then this could be the position for you. This role will suit someone who is after a secure and permanent position with long term progression opportunities. Key skills you will have include: - Experience leading teams of workers on an onsite basis and with minimal supervision. - A mature and level headed disposition, a clear decision maker, have natural likeability and a customer focused attitude. - Confident in reading and understanding site plans, construction drawings and be used to liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. - Ideally you will be a skilled carpenter but candidates will be considered if they have a more limited understanding of carpentry. A minimal level of knowledge of carpentry is required. The Package: You will be paid an hourly rate to ensure every hour you work you get paid for and with estimated working hours you will earn up to £35,000 per annum. You will also receive a performance related bonus of up to £1,500 per annum. When on site, comfort is key and my client puts you up in good quality accommodation and will pre pay you an additional £20 per night expenses for the duration of the job.
