Lionbridge are looking for a competent QA/IQC author, to join their team in Derbyon a Permanent basis. The QA Author will be accountable for assuring the quality of Technical Manuals to set specification and standards. - They will manage the quality control elements of the projects delivered, achieving customer satisfaction by ensuring production to contractual standards. - They will drive a culture to enable Authors to deliver right first time documents and illustrations, consistently striving to improve delivery standards and exceed customer expectations - As a balance checkpoint, the QA Author will audit tasks to ensure consistency of products delivered and continuously improves performance. - They will provide accurate and timely feedback to the production team members to ensure continuous improvement and eliminate recurrent non-conformities. RESPONSIBILITIES - Quality Assurance: Ensures all quality Authoring and QA certification processes are followed. Highlights quality issues speedily and refuses to accept substandard work. - Compliance: Ensures Lionbridge Production and QA processes are followed - Risk Management: Identifies project risks, and records, manages and escalates as appropriate. - Culture: Delivery of 'Right First Time' ethos - Process Improvement: Drives for continuous improvements in process and efficiency. Works with stakeholders internally to share best practice; ensuring the creation of supporting documentation, processes, guides and training logs. - People: Escalates any performance issues to Team Lead. Works with Training and QA Manager to consistently maintain and improve knowledge/performance of teams and highlights concerns to Team Leader. Works with Project Managers and Team Leads to ensure that QA topics covered and certified for are broadened Accountability - Maintains processes and quality levels in line with contractual and ISO Standards. - Compliant with project quality records for reporting and audit purposes. - Monitors and controls personal quality and the delivery of QA Tasks and highlights risks. - Works with Line Manager to ensure personal development, to meet individual objectives. - Supports the achievement of Project Milestones and looks for opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs Qualifications/skills - IQC competence, preferably gained in a Technical Documentation environment, within the Aerospace/Gas turbine industry. - S1000D experience - Technical Manuals Authoring competence - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Must be familiar with email and internet communications. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Good at working with stakeholders and handling conflict resolution. - Adaptable with a proactive approach to work. - Resourceful, confident and able to take initiative.
