Job Title - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location - Lichfield Salary -£30,000 including shift allowance generous overtime (OTE £40k) Shifts - 3 Shift Rotation Monday to Friday (6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm / 10pm - 6am) Holidays - 28 days inclusive of Bank Holidays. The Company Our client is one of the world's largest producers of bottle water. Not only producing their own brand of sparkling and still water, they also supply to the majority of UK Supermarkets and continue increase there already impressive market share. With sites all across the world, their Lichfield site produces 70,000 bottle of water per day. Thanks to recent heavy investment they have just complete the installation of a third line, which will take total production to 110,000 bottles a day. The company's success is down to their production process. Unlike many of their competitors who buy in bottles, out client's sites all have fully automated injection moulding presses and high speed rotary blow moulding facilities allowing them to manufacture the bottles as they need them. This not only drives down the costs of production, but also transportation and storage cost. The recent expansion of the site has now led them to look to further boost the engineering presence on site so as they can achieve 90% plus line availability. As such they require an additional Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well established maintenance team. The Role The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be required to perform reactive and planned preventative maintenance on the fully automated high speed rotary blow moulding machines. This will include: - Basic electrical fault finding with a multimeter through to sensors, switches and motors. - Mechanical fault finding and repair. - Routine PPM work, including line walks, oiling and greasing. The production equipment includes 2x Injection Mould Press (used to make 'blanks' that are blown into bottles) > 4x High Speed Rotary Blow Moulders (producing 70,000 a day up to 110,000 capacity) > rotary filling lines (these are comprised on overhead volume flasks that contain the exact amount of water that will be poured into the bottle. The volume each flask can contain differs depending on the size of the bottle they are producing) > capping lines (bottle caps are screwed on) > high speed printing and labelling lines > shrink wrappers > robotic palletisers. All of these are connected by slat conveyors. The Candidate To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes: - Must have completed a recognised mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship. - Must have previous experience maintaining either Blow Moulders or Injection Moulding machines.
