IT Infrastructure Engineer- Derby (with initial regular travel) - up to £33k Our customer is a leading provider of communications products and services in global markets. They are providing technology solutions and services to blue chip clients and governments. At the moment, they are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer.The Individual will be part of a team of 2, who together cover 4 sites. The role will be based in Derby with regular travel to other offices based down South. The role will report into the Head of the IT department. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the IT support and maintaining business systems and have the ability to manipulate data through their reporting system. The role splits into 4: IT support - The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the wintel environment along with the server hardware infrastructure, hardware mainly Cisco and HP. We have on premise Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL which the role would support along with general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities. Database management and maintenance - The candidate will be expected to manage, administer and support several databases within the operating environment, and have the ability to write reports for internal departments or customers, and to liaise with various support and supplier organisations. System support - the candidate will be required to become an administrator and supper user of several the Groups systems including various Access and Visibility systems IT system developments - the individual will be expected to propose improvements to the IT systems, produce a plan for those improvements and implement them. Duties & Knowledge - Key requirements Good working knowledge of IT, including Windows and Microsoft Office, Exchange Vmware and Veeam exposure- basic knowledge Cisco - some networking experience Report writing experience Desktop/Laptop PC Hardware and problem resolution skills Experienced in fault finding up to Network infrastructure and Server level Experience in fault finding and diagnosis of faults with printers and other peripherals. Previous experience of working in an IT Help desk or Service Desk environment. Supporting and maintaining MS Server/Desktops and MS Exchange Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date Fault finding to laptops and desktops Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops Setting up and configuring new core servers including software Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts Other Full UK Driving license essential - there will frequent travel Ability to cover out of hours if required
