Business Development Manager GP Strategies are looking for Business Development Manager (multi sector) based in Burton on Trent. You will be responsible and targeted for generating new client business and developing wider relationships and winning new opportunities with existing clients specifically within the Brewing/Drinks, Life Sciences, and Industrial Sectors based here in the UK and internationally and can on occasion be other GP Strategies business units. As well as having your individual target and responsibilities, you will be a part of our Lorien Engineering Solutions business unit senior management team. You will focus on the following sectors; · Brewing /Drinks Sector: which includes manufacturing and support facilities in the following areas – alcoholic brewed and distilled beverages, non-alcoholic juices and carbonated beverages, water, and associated food products of a beverage customer. · Life Sciences Sector: which includes manufacturing facilities, support facilities, research facilities in the following areas - pharmaceutical, biopharmaceuticals, regenerative medicines and treatments, in-vitro diagnostics, health and beauty care products, chemicals, advanced technologies and research. · Industrial Sector: which includes; manufacturing and support facilities in the following areas – manufacturing of non-food, drinks, life sciences products, waste to energy installations, green/alternative energy schemes, historic/ heritage property utilities. How will your role look like? You will; Effectively engage with both existing and new clients, describe and sell our offerings and solutions, which include engineering consultancy, feasibility studies, design and implementation projects (EPCM), and health/safety/environmental/ quality compliance. Research, analyse and monitor financial, technological and sector factors to capitalise on market opportunities using central and marketing resources. Be responsible for the winning of new business and achieving individual sales targets, by gaining awareness of marketplace needs, the identification of potential clients and selling opportunities, producing impactful presentations and writing detailed proposals. Work cooperatively with Sector Directors, and to monitor and report on progress made. Manage your own sales opportunities and leads, utilising the company’s customer relationship management tools (MS Dynamics CRM) and Sales Prospects report (MS Excel), and to work within a wider team focussed upon business development in our other key sectors. Participate in the staff development programme within the GP Strategies framework and within the agreed individual staff development plan. Ensure that the Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Quality Operating Policies and Procedures are adhered to within your area of responsibility and that any non-compliance is reported to your Manager. You will have… Good standard of education or equivalent experience Proven track record of successful consultative sales and achieving targets within professional services (minimum 2 years) Outstanding listening, questioning and consulting skills Excellent presentation skills Ability to communicate and network with people at all levels Excellent proposal writing and thought skills to win new business Proven teamwork experience Good general administration and IT skills Full clean driving license and Car owner/driver Desirable Requirements Track record includes selling professional engineering design and project management services. Familiarity with the Pharmaceutical and/or Brewing/ Drinks manufacturing sectors.
