Founded in 1967, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust Ltd is a registered charity whose twin aims are education and heritage conservation. The Trust is one of the largest independent museums in the world and is widely recognised as one of the most innovative and entrepreneurial museums in the UK. The Museum has a successful fundraising history and has secured donations and grants from individuals, local, regional and central government together with independent grant-making Trusts and bodies.
We are at an exciting stage in our development and are now looking to recruit a dynamic and energetic fundraiser, who will work closely with the Director of Museum Development to implement and deliver our overall fundraising strategy. This will include launching our 'Fund for the Future' endowment appeal, which is supported by a GBP1 million endowment grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the 'Masterplan for Coalbrookdale' - a GBP15 million strategic development plan.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operation of the fundraising team managing four direct reports. With a proven track record of generating income from a range of different giving disciplines; writing successful grant applications; and cultivating major individual donors and corporate supporters.
The role will suit someone from a fundraising or sales and marketing background in either the charitable or private sector. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong productive relationship. An individual who takes a flexible approach to their work is a creative thinker, has energy and drive and is totally professional.
There will be occasional evening and weekend work.
Full drivers licence and access to own car essential.
