The exciting challenges of these roles are to promote cycling as a form of active and sustainable travel, to school age children, parents and staff at selected primary and secondary schools in line with Leicester City Council's Cycle City Action Plan. To support 'school champions' in schools, to harness local authority resources available for cycling and active travel and to make links between schools and the wider community.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working directly with children and young people and of partnership working within a community-based or environmental project. You will have experience of delivering physical activity or other behaviour change projects, of leading engagement activities, organising group cycling activities and of running events. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to motivate others and the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload are essential, as is the requirement to have undertaken, (or be willing to attend) national standard cycle instructor training. You will also be committed to active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport. DBS Enhanced Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.
