Role - Laboratory Technician Location - Hatton, Derbyshire Job Type - Permanent Hours - 40/week - flexibility required Salary - £17.5k An opportunity has arisen for a laboratory technician to join the fast growing team with Accreditation to UKAS and ISO 9001; working safely, ethically and having excellent attention to detail are all essential qualities. Experience in a similar laboratory based role is preferred but not essential for the correct candidate. Key Duties Include: - Following Inhouse test methods and SOP's to carry out cleanliness testing on a range of automotive, engineering, medical and other components. - Optical Microscopy of test results. - Helping to produce reports for samples tested and input of sample results into the established report templates under the supervision of the Laboratory manager. - Quality control testing (analysis of particle size/distribution) on a range of bespoke powder products. - Maintain the laboratory to an acceptable level of housekeeping. - Assist with audits and ensure compliance at all times with laboratory systems, rules and procedures, including external accreditation (ISO 17025, ISO 9001) and ensure that appropriate quality assurance controls are carried out on a regular basis within the laboratory. - Using various other analytical instruments on site. - Ability to work on your own or as part of team. At times, you will provide assistance to other areas of the laboratory as and when is required. Requirements: - A Level Science or Maths are the preferred minimum. These skills are essential. - Good IT Skills. A working knowledge of Excel is essential as a minimum. - The role will involve manual handling and some heavy lifting. - Own transport.
