An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit Manufacturing Engineers across a range of disciplines within the Turbine Manufacturing Business. The Turbine Components Supply Chain Unit is responsible for the design and integration of Turbine sub-systems for Civil, Defence, Marine and Energy applications, as well as for the delivery of Turbines commodities to customer cost and quality requirements through an integrated supply chain. We are recruiting for a variety of roles within our domestic investment casting and machining manufacturing facilities situated in Rotherham, Derby and Bristol. In addition to these, we have Derby based roles to support and develop the external manufacturing supply chain. Our product portfolio is diverse, high volume and at the forefront of technology. Products include; single crystal, directionally solidified and equiax; high, intermediate and low pressure blades and nozzle guide vanes. Key Accountabilities - Develop manufacturing methods and technology to deliver New Part Introduction to quality, cost and timescale targets. - Continuous improvement to eliminate waste and process variation, improve process capability and reduce product cost. - Deliver strategic growth through identification and development of future technologies and capability acquisition with seamless production implementation. - Ownership of the technical package including; product verification, change control and operational support. Qualifications Required Experience: - Qualified to Degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace/ Manufacturing/ Materials/ Mechanical or equivalent work experience. - Practical experience in a manufacturing production environment within; continuous improvement, new product introduction, capability acquisition, process engineering, automation or metrology. - Experience of delivering success when working in multi-functional teams, including Operations, Planning and Design Engineering. Preferable Experience: - Investment casting practical experience. - Machining practical experience inclusive of manufacturing software (such as CAD / CAM), tooling design and manufacture. - Managing and developing suppliers within the investment casting and machining supply chain. - Materials and metallurgy experience applicable to the verification of investment casting and machining process substantiations. - Practitioner in source and method change control. - Green Belt/ Six-sigma qualifications. - Experience in component validation and quality procedures. - Knowledge of current aerospace manufacturing processes, including inspection and metrology.
