Baltic Recruitment are looking for an experienced Account Handler for one of the leading independent insurance brokerages specialising in farming in England, Scotland and Wales.

The role has responsibility for generating revenue and developing the profitability of the business whilst ensuring full FCA compliance in all aspects of commercial insurance. Ensuring a high quality service is provided to all clients in accordance with their needs and requirements.

Role Responsibilities

* To document meetings promptly and take follow up action promptly or by an agreed date.
* Provide clients with an informative interim reply and/or an apology if the above specified time limits are not met.
* Ensure that all aspects of client interface are professional, friendly, speedy and accurate.
* Complete proposals and obtain other documentation for midterm additional business.
* Issue invoices and collect money for midterm adjustments.
* Ensure that insurance company surveys are carried out within a reasonable time scale.
* Ensure any agreed risk improvements are carried out by the client within the time allocated.
* To prepare renewal schedules and contact client prior to renewal within compliance manual timescales.
* Negotiate alternative quotes - prior to renewal dates - where appropriate.
* Deal with all documentation, invoices, credit notes, etc. ensuring a smooth and trouble-free renewal for the client.
* Be familiar with the FCA regulations as they apply to consumer and commercial clients, particularly concerning Advising and Selling standards, Renewals, Product Disclosure, Cancellation, Claims Handling and Record Keeping.

* Remain aware of attention to detail and accuracy along with a willingness to do a thorough job for the clients, colleagues and the company.
* Comply with employment conditions as set out in the Contract of Employment, Staff Handbook, Letter of Appointment and other ad-hoc instructions.
* Demonstrate good communication skills that are effective and meet business needs.
* Prioritise and organise own workload.
* Demonstrate highly effective negotiating skills.

Technical Knowledge required

* Pass Broker Assess Principles and Practices of Insurance.
* Understand how the insurance market works.
* Show a thorough knowledge of all relevant products.
* Understand where the Data Protection legislation affects the processes of this job.
* To pass the client annual competency exam and demonstrate knowledge of the specific areas of insurance which apply to the job
