Senior Java Developer - Financial Sector - Birmingham - GBP60,000 per annum - Excellent Benefits

Our client a global Fiancial company based in central Birmingham is urgently looking for a Senior Java Developer. Will be working on global development projects in designing and developing software using Java (SE and EE, up to Java 8), JDBC, Servlets, SOAP, REST, XML, JSP, RMI, web services, OSGI and Portal technologies. Detailed working knowledge of software design techniques, including object-oriented analysis and design, and work in an agile environment. Working within the Development team on open source frameworks and technologies (Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Maven, and others).Working on architectural principles of a design are carried through to the developed code base. Also, working within the global development team, digital projects and occasional travel to other United Kingdom sites.

Skills Required:-

- Knowledge of current open source frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, JPA.

- Knowledge of agile development principles and processes (eg Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Behaviour-Driven Development, SCRUM) and experience with associated test frameworks

- Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML)

- Understanding of design patterns

- Understanding of Internet web application architectures and Internet application design (HTTP, REST, JSON)

- Understanding of micro-service architecture principles

- Understanding/experience of messaging architectures (eg Mule, Apache ServiceMix) considered a plus

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript

- Knowledge of contemporary Javascript-based frameworks considered a plus

- Knowledge of rule based systems (eg Drools) considered a plus

- Knowledge/experience of Java-based Content Management Systems (CMS; ideally Adobe AEM, or others)

- Knowledge languages and platforms (eg Microsoft .NET, Ruby on Rails, Scala, PHP/Drupal) a plus

- Understanding of no-SQL databases a plusBachelor's degree in computer science or related degree; advanced degree in computer science a plus - or equivalent corporate experience
