We need a Birmingham based Principal Bridge Engineer to provide technical management and support to numerous clients, technical staff and projects in both the Birmingham office and more widely within the Europe market. Clients currently include HS2 (EDP JV), A-one+, Highways England, Thames Water, Environment Agency, and local authorities. Many of our schemes are multi- disciplinary and will require liaison with project teams of varying complexity and size. We support our clients in realising their bridge related schemes, achieved through a fully integrated approach to project delivery; drawing on the services of all CH2M skill groups from locations throughout the region. Collaborative work-sharing between offices provides opportunity to work on significant infrastructure commissions such as the Lower Thames Crossing and overseas projects in countries such as Dubai. We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Bridge Engineer looking to lead a project team that is responsible for the delivery of a range of challenging and ultimately rewarding projects. You will be passionate about bridge design, have a desire to succeed and to be part of a winning team. You will work with our team of bridge engineers to ensure structural designs are appropriate, meet standards of quality and are delivered to programme. The priorities of your role will include: • Responsibility for project delivery and undertaking the role of technical lead on a range of bridge and highway related projects. • Leading and mentoring bridge design staff on tasks such as structural analysis, feasibility studies, tenders designs, detailed designs and the production of contract documents and technical reports. • Using your knowledge and skills in working together with the team and other disciplines in providing an integrated service to clients • Seeking innovative solutions in achieving best value in delivering our services • Helping development of the team through the delivery of projects and commissions, providing technical and administrative support and leadership where required The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. • Extensive relevant work experience within a bridge design office. Specifically of the following areas: Bridge design Bridge analysis Bridge assessment & inspection • Excellent numerical and analytical skills • Computer literate with working knowledge of structural analysis packages and AutoCAD • Working knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB, British Standards and Network Rail standards and specifications • Strong planning & organising skills • Proven track record of delivery of bridge and highway related projects and an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team • Experience of undertaking client facing roles and an ability to attract new clients into the business • Experience of project financial management and bidding to deliver continued workload • Strong communication skills with fluency in verbal and written English • Ability to produce quality reports and technical papers and to deliver presentations • Commitment to professional and personal self-development • Desire to mentor and coach those around you to ensure project delivery and advance the technical abilities of others The minimum qualifications for this position are: ??
