As a mobile software developer you'll be a critical member of a small engineering team working on our catalogue of new and existing iPhone and Android app. This isn't an average position where you might be restricted to one small piece of the company's technology, but one where you'll have influence over our whole mobile program, from design to production.

The job involves the following responsibilities:

- Contribute to our native apps written in Objective-C
- Contribute to Android apps written in the Xamarin .NET framework
- Integrate with our backend services to make sure we are delivering a great mobile user experience that's super-fast for end users
- Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and have the chance to contribute innovative and original ideas to our technology, algorithms and product
- Work with the product and design team to understand end-user requirements and use cases, then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
- Understand the blend of Cx, Ix and Ux working practices and philosophy to develop user friendly apps that are delightful to use
- Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results within a schedule

Sklls needed -

The ideal candidate would have experience in the following:

- Native Mobile App Development with iOS or Android
- Objective C
- Swift
- Java for Android
- Microsoft Technology and the .Net Framework
- C# Programming
- Xamarin and Xamarin Forms with XAML

Experience with some of the following technologies would be useful:

- Web API
- Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft Azure
- Web Development
- Mobile User Experience
- Automation of App Build and Release
- Unit Testing and Automation Testing

Knowledge needed

As an experienced Android or iOS Mobile Developer, you must have:

- At least 2 years of commercial experience as a developer (preferably for mobile)
- Excellent knowledge of Java and Android Studio (or iOS)
- A character and attitude that will help foster and inspire creativity and collaboration
- The ability to demonstrate your work on an approved Google Play or App store app
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to work with minimum guidance
- Knowledge of Object Oriented concepts and a strong passion for user centric software development
- Experience with shared version control and source code management tools.


- Execute full lifecycle software development
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
- Document and maintain software functionality
- Tailor and deploy software tools, processes and metrics
- Serve as a subject matter expert
- Comply with project plans and industry standard
- Implement and test work against an agreed requirement specification
- Ability to work well within a team and support others
- Building up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment.
- Being involved in the wider web development community, identifying good practices we can adopt and sharing our experiences.
- Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers
- Taking part in 2nd-line support of applications and platforms, including occasional support outside of office hours
