Product Structure Engineer

ROLE PURPOSE The Configuration and Design data management team controls Design product structure configuration for the incorporation of a Bill Of Material (BOM) in order to aid Engine delivery for Civil Large Engines, serving new product Introduction (NPI) and Fleet Programmes. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES (Please list in order of priority). - Understand a design change from a Product Change Board by cross referencing the change package to the related Design Definition Reports, Pipe Routing techniques and Design scheme drawings. - Obtain relevant Design Assembly Parts (DAP) from the Design structure related to the change. - Analyse change request package and compare with the Configuration product structure and update accordingly. - Release the Configuration Structure and update customer accordingly. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) Experience - Theoretical understanding of Aero engine products - Knowledge of Unigraphics/NX. Qualifications - HND/HNC level qualification (or equivalent) or above in an engineering subject preferably Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive groups. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, DESIRABLE TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) - TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED Experience - An understanding of Aero Engine Publication's. - Basic understanding of the assemblies in a data management system - Basic Aero Engine familiarisation, Maintenance, and overhaul knowledge - An understanding of Product Lifecycle management system - Proficient in using Unigraphics/NX. - An understanding of Aero Engine Assembly and sub-assembly part relationship SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of numeracy. - Excellent Computer Literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office tools - Ability to communicate effectively with customers and a diverse staff population. - Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary information. - Must be confident, resourceful, highly organised and be able to work with little direct intervention - Self-starter able to work well within a large team - Basic Tool knowledge on UG NX.
