An opportunity has arisen for a capable Systems Analyst to join an in-house team of IT software developers.

The team, developing and supporting 80+ websites, including a 2014 Award Winning eCommerce website and various international sites, will be developing and driving the sites further forward via a managed program of developments, enhancements and additional web presences. We are looking for an individual with experience of taking business requirements and acting as the intelligent interface between those requirements and IT developers, translating them into terms which can be used for solution design and implementation.

The headline function of the role is to act as the technical glue between the business and development staff, and between different technical disciplines within IT.

Typical day to day activities will be to take business requirements and high level functional specifications, challenge and quality assure them for feasibility and negotiate scope with the business, before translating them into a document that development staff can use as the basis for design and implementation. Additionally, co-ordinating design activities between different technical disciplines, such as the open source and MS C# or Dynamics AX teams with regards to middleware and interface protocols and data requirements.
Working for the IT Project Manager, the role will involve research and design of solutions, ongoing liaison within IT and with the business, small scale Project management and, of course, business, process and data analysis, requirements capture.

As well as technical business analysis experience, backed up ideally by a BCS ISEB qualification, the ideal candidates will have a technical or development background and be the sort of individual who takes ownership of changes and problems, and has an inquisitorial and tenacious problem solving mind set, and is familiar with the IT development lifecycle. An experience of working with Agile development methodologies would also be an advantage, as well as exposure to Kanban style agile tools.

The company itself is a family run business that has been trading for over 45 years. It currently employs c.600 staff and has an annual turnover of almost GBP100m.
