Senior Systems Engineer Salary up to GBP55k Birmingham My client specialises in the supply of high technology driver information systems for the automotive sector. Their modern purpose built office is the hub for European Manufacturing. Their products are supplied to leading vehicle manufacturers in the UK. With their products ranging from standard analogue through to digital and analogue combinations optimising analogue indicators and digital technology providing a diverse set of information to the driver. Key responsibilities: To perform acceptance testing on software builds before distribution to either an internal or external customer ensuring they are fit for purpose; all limitations and exceptions are documented, communicated and understood. To keep control of the technical content of the projects by producing and maintaining the internal and external requirement baselines and functional implementation plan (FIP). To provide the external customers with a reliable, consistent technical point of contact for the development of the instrument cluster. Act as a surrogate customer to the internal customers, supporting them in the understanding of the requirements and the resolution of queries. To continually investigate new tools, processes and techniques relevant to the system engineering discipline ensuring we remain competent and efficient in supporting both our internal and external customer needs. Requirements: A proven track record of technical problem solving and customer negotiation with technical knowledge with respect to Systems Engineering for Electrical and Mechanical disciplines would be an advantage. Excellent technical knowledge with respect to Systems Engineering for the Software discipline. Responsible for producing and maintaining the Systems Engineering timing plan that shows the required activities and key timing points for a given project - planning, design and implementation of Vehicle integration, System integration and software test specifications. Have a good understanding of the Systems Engineering discipline and the defined internal processes and procedures thus enabling an active involvement in improving the department's quality system.
