IT Systems Administrator Systems Administrator / Infrastructure / Windows Servers / Active Directory / Telephony / Permanent / Tamworth / Staffordshire / West Midlands Established, market leading client in Tamworth is looking for a passionate IT Systems Administrator to join their specialist team at their Head Office due to continued success and growth. The Systems Administrator will maintain and provide support for business critical systems in order for the company to maintain its leading position in the market and continue to deliver against its ambitious growth plans. The role also involves providing support to the company's regional branch offices, so some travel may be required. Key responsibilities: Administer, maintain and support existing systems and users. (Windows Servers/Azure/Microsoft set ups) Install new systems, upgrade and re-install existing systems to meet business growth and changing business requirements. Identify and test new software as per business requirements. Ensure that system problems are investigated, diagnosed and resolved. Devise, develop and implement solutions and procedures and test these regularly for the on-going benefit of the business. Improve existing systems with proactive analysis and in line with expectations of the IT Manager and the business. Work with system users to define their needs, identify problems, evaluating potential solutions, demonstrating, installing and implementing improvements. Collaborating in the design and development of the system to meet user needs and respond to/anticipate technological advancements. Provide expertise to all users and answer any queries or requests for support or training on systems. Act as an escalation point for the IT Support team to help resolve more complex issues that arise. Ensure escalated issues are recorded and managed appropriately in the ticketing system. Suggest creative solutions to develop the business systems to provide more reliable or effective support as the company develops and expands. Support business infrastructure expansion in all offices Project manage upgrades or system implementations by working closely with suppliers and managers ensuring that appropriate information is communicated on a timely basis. Required skills: In depth and detailed understanding of Active Directory, implementing, installing, managing and designing Active Directory 2008/2012/2016 server. Advanced knowledge of Windows server operating systems including Windows 2008. 2012 and 2016, detailed knowledge of operating system components such as DFS, DNS and SNMP, SMTP (Lotus Domino), Remote Desktop Services, Group policies, integration with other third party software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft servers, including SQL server, terminal server. Ability to implement the above from scratch, upgrade and administer such systems. Knowledge/experience installing 3rdparty server applications including Anti-virus and backup products. Strong scripting knowledge, example printer and logon scripting Ability to understand the business infrastructure, to implement and improve IT solutions in accordance with business environment.
