FINANCE AND OPERATIONS MANAGER SUTTON COLDFIELD, WEST MIDLANDS FULL TIME POSITION £30-35,000 PER ANNUM EXCELLENT BENEFITS Our client specialises in the design, development and manufacturing of digital low voltage lighting for intelligent building solutions and have recently developed a unique Ethernet control solution enabling clients to take advantage of the high growth digital ceiling sector with confidence. The organisation has a clear development path for its control and lighting solutions targeted specifically towards large commercial smart lighting and building management solutions with the capability to fully customised and bespoke solutions to customer requirements. JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role is responsible for all day to day Finance and Operational duties, including Marketing and Manufacturing and will play an active role to ensure the business achieves its growth plans through effective leadership, employee performance and customer service delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To oversee all Finance and Payroll duties being carried out to ensure accuracy and efficiency of process, including the management of any finance related risk and support. To undertake strategic analysis and assisting with financial planning in conjunction with the Finance team. To review, update and implement a preferred supplier list to ensure competitive pricing terms and conditions are agreed and in writing, and to act as the approved signatory for regular supplier spend as agreed with the CEO. Working with the teams to identify working practices that require development or improvement and suggesting alternatives as identified and encouraging the teams to offer suggestions. Full accountability for all operational activities within the manufacturing team, including the allocation of work, quality checking and customer despatch. Working in partnership with the Marketing team to understand the overall strategic objectives and to offer support as required with future marketing, PR activities. Working closely with our outsourced HR Consultancy to ensure all staff performance measures are in place and regularly reviewed, including the management of any HR related issues that may arise. To conduct monthly 1-1 meetings with all direct reports, including half yearly appraisals to support staff development, including setting objectives for all direct reports, including KPI's for efficiency to ensure continual improvement and high levels of performance are achieved. To create a strategy plan that focusses on overall business efficiency by working with the teams to identify positive opportunities for improvement. Ensuing all H&S and environmental processes are adhered to within the operation and applied in all circumstances. PERSON SPECIFICATION Ability to prepare financial reports and statistics for presenting at board level. Commercial yet pragmatic approach when liaising with customers and suppliers. Proven leadership experience within a Financial and Operational environment. Effective and competent people management skills. Clear communicator - both verbal and written. A natural motivator. A formal Management Qualification would be preferable i.e. IIM Management Certificate or Diploma A financial qualification such as AAT or CIMA. Previous working knowledge of Sage 50 and MRP systems.
