Design Engineer £22,000 – 25,000 25 days’ holiday Paid Overtime Derbyshire/Staffordshire The Company My client is a process engineering specialist who design and manufacture turnkey process equipment solutions for clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, materials handling amongst other industries. The company turns over £30 million a year with a headcount of 130 and an incredible 60 professional engineers (18 of whom are chartered) across software, process, electrical and mechanical design. The company have a trading history that dates back over 200 years and a senior management and directorship team who are all home grown from within the business. Each project is developed from initial enquiry through to full design and finally installation and commissioning on site, a project could last up to 2 years and involves input from process, electrical and mechanical engineers. They are currently looking to recruit a Junior Design Engineer with a year or more experience in the design of pipework systems with a CAD package. The Role The role of Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for using CADWorx to produce 3D layouts for process plants which will involve: Taking a P&ID from the process engineering team which specifies the number of tanks, diameter of pipework and equipment needed for the process plant. Then using CADWorx to create the 3D plant layout for the process plant. Ensuring the plant layout adheres to any requirements for health and safety and plant maintenance. These process plant layouts are for high value complex projects so one project could take six weeks of work to finish the 3D layout. You will sometimes be responsible for going to site to survey site requirements. The Person To be successful in your application for this Junior Design Engineer vacancy you will need: A HNC or above. A year plus experience in the design of pipework system layouts. Experience in using a CAD package. A great attitude towards learning. A team player.
