Title of Position: Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) - Advisor Title Position Reports to: Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Business Partner Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Location: Derby Salary: £32,000, negotiable Job Purpose - To work in partnership with the operational teams Provide guidance with regards to HS&E and operational requirements. Play a pivotal role in the core HS&E team, working to continually improve both the scope and quality of the service offered to the business working closely with other members of the HS&E Department. . - To provide positive support for UK Operations on Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) issues and promote the adoption of HS&E best practice and an enthusiastic HS&E culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engages all employees in, continuous improvement in HS&E performance. - Promote Company Behavioural Safety Program. Aims and Objectives - To consistently deliver communicate "Management Expectations" successfully across all key areas,supporting operational teams to meet and exceed business performance targets. - To gain the respect and commitment of our entire workforce to provide a safe and environmentally considered work place, using effective influencing skills and high personal energy. - Assist with ensuring business-wide awareness including appropriate training and education programmes. Facilitate integration of HS&E within UK operations - Provide HS&E Support - Help deliver UK HS&E objectives Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Provide the operational HS&E support to business objectives. - Monitor the implementation of the UK HS&E management system and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate. - Provide assistance and support to the Senior HS&E Business Partners and other members of the HS&E Department. - Help deliver annual HS&E objectives and report on their implementation in accordance with an agreed actions timetable. - Produce monthly reports on HS&E performance. - Assist in accident and incident and investigation reports, help identify any trends and ensure that there is an appropriate improvement plan to prevent future recurrence. - Work in partnership with colleagues in the Central HS&E department to ensure coordination in operational development. Monitor and manage HS&E information to ensure the business unit is kept up to date. In addition ensure information is shared with the Central HS&E department. - Support HS&E projects/tasks as and when required. - Ensure that all HS&E Policies and Procedures are followed consistently across the business and that best practice is adhered to in dealing with such areas. Working Relationships Internal - Interface with Operational management team, HS&E colleagues. - In conjunction with our Central HS&E department, audit and implement improvements in our HS&E policy, procedures and best practice guideline. - Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E)) Department, Chief Engineers Design Department (CEDD), Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Department, Human Resource (HR) team. External - Interface with Industry networks, appropriate service providers. - Develop relationships with customers and other stakeholders to realise added value in service delivery Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are: Essential - Strong organisational, decision-making and communication skills. - Driver of change and Continuous Performance improvement, high levels of personal commitment - In possession of NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum - Proactive approach to HS&E responsibilities Desirable - Experience working in the Building Services, Facilities Services or Industrial Services or similar market sector. - Ability to provide necessary guidance and influence. - Sound presentation and influencing skills.
