I am recruiting a Purchasing Manager for a manufacturing organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, with responsibility of managing the purchasing function, sourcing strategy and day-to-day relationships with suppliers. Managing a team of 3 within the purchasing department, this is an excitement opportunity to develop and mentor a high-performing team and implement the company sourcing strategy. Client Details Manufacturing organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent. Description Develop and maintain the highest level of efficiency and professionalism in all communications. Ensure that the combination of price, service and quality represent the highest value. Select and manage sources of supply at competitive pricing that are suitable for use consistent with the highest standards of the company. Support annual inventory targets by ensuring that receipts of purchased product do not exceed budget or budget revisions. To create orders / schedules for all finished goods in line with cmpany needs and where relevant supplier lead times to maintain required Company customer service levels and inventory policy. To maintain supplier delivery dates to ensure information to both external and internal customers is of the highest standard. To assist in new product development in conjunction with Brand managers and commercial colleagues. Develop and manage cost reduction budget defined in liaison with the Supply Chain Director To maintain the computer data base including assisting with data cleanse activities. To work with the Supply Chain Director to maintain profile of, and contact with, all possible sources of strategic materials worldwide. Measure vendor performance in terms of qualities of product and service using computer based rating system. Develop and manage supply contracts where applicable and support the Supply Chain Director in developing key strategic suppliers. Work with the Supply Chain Director to ensure that the Purchasing function works efficiently to achieve Company goals whilst liaising effectively with other departments to maximise efficiency and cooperation. To be responsible for pro-active evaluation and control of risk and for identifying developing risk. Profile Computer literate - demonstrable skill in Microsoft Office software, SAP or other Business Application software including MRP and data base functions. Strong negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills. A knowledge and understanding of the terms and conditions of contract. Sound experience of purchasing procedures. Job Offer £35,000 - £40,000 benefits.
