Role Title: Data Migration Engineer (DPD) Location: Derby, UK Reporting to: DPD Data Migration Project Manager About Us: QuEST Global is a pure play engineering solutions company with a proven track record that serves the product lifecycle needs of high technology companies. Role Overview: The Digital Product Definition (DPD) Data Migration Engineer will work with the DPD Data Migration Specialist to support all activities related to legacy data migration into Team Centre and validation of the migrated data. Job Summary: Prime Responsibilities: - Support the legacy Data Migration efforts in line with the DPD requirements document - Support mapping and documenting the requirements including - o Data to be migrated - o Sources of data to be migrated - single system/ multi system - o Issues/ Constraints and work arounds - Define the tools and steps for data migration, identify need for any custom tools for this purpose and standard tools that could be used in conjunction with custom tools - Support data validation in consultation with DPD Project Manager, Technical Specialists and key users - Support regression testing of tools as required to support the migration - Pilot and validate Data Migration - fix issues observed during pilot - Support data migration as per the DPD Project Plan - Identify and manage risks identified for data migration, ensure risk register is maintained and each of the risks addressed in order of priority and criticality - Work with stakeholders to identify issues and define solutions or workarounds in consultation with Technical Specialists and key users - Maintain a log of issues and solutions and report out on a periodic basis - Utilise the ALM application for all test & defect management. - Escalate technical issues for resolution to the Solution Lead and/or DPD Project Manager(s). - Identification and update/generate the project specific Rolls-Royce documentation (e.g. Test Script(s), Solution Document(s), Functional Requirements Specification(s) Skills: - ยท Team Centre Data Migration - eQube toolset knowledge would be an advantage - People, communication and influencing skills - Writing technical documentation - Business process understanding - Ability to recognise and articulate the technical dependencies within the capability, and across projects - Technical knowledge of the PLM toolset, specifically Team Centre - Technical knowledge of the legacy PLM toolset - Understanding of data management principles Understanding of the DPD support processes - Understanding of usage of common product features across Product Lifecycle Key Relationships: - PLM Project Technical Leads - Business Implementation leads - PLM Consultancy Group - Technical Authorities from other Businesses - CTO - Purchasing - Supplier PMs - Key users Desired Skills: - Good Communication in English (oral & written) & Interpersonal skills - Customer Focus - Ability to build and develop Customer & Supplier relationships - Organisational Agility - Problem solving ability - Logical Thinking - Effective Time management - Result driven DISCLAIMER: Due to the nature of work candidates should be UK citizen/ EU Citizen/ Valid work permit holder.
