Senior Transport and Logistics Account Manager We are one of Europe's leading 4PL suppliers of Transport Management solutions and are currently looking to expand our team with a confident client facing Leader. The Role You will be responsible for the effective production and management of the optimal delivery schedule possible on behalf of our clients. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Reporting to the Cell Operations Manager - To ensure that the most cost effective transport and efficient schedule is produced - Identifying opportunities to ensure the most efficient use of resources within the contract and within the network - To our client's software to ensure the most effective use of resource in order to create the most efficient and optimum cost transport schedule - To effectively liaise between Customer Services, Despatch and Carrier on a day to day basis and oversee the customers transport, ensuring actions are consistent with their business plan - Booking third party carriers - Booking in deliveries with the consignees - Monitor the flow and accuracy of data between the customers system and GCM - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the client, ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained - Be proactive in developing business activity - To ensure all costings are complete and correct on a daily basis - To ensure that all plans are invoiced daily and correctly and have the correct reporting type - To ensure all planning and delivery related inefficiencies are captured and reported using our client's issue logs - To make sure that all relevant documentation is accurately generated and distributed. - Responsible for checking carrier confirmation status each evening. - To ensure collection requests are actioned correctly - Take a proactive role in improving planning KPI's through the schedule - Identify opportunities to work more efficiently The above key responsibilities and accountabilities along with any other duties you are asked to carry out, as outlined below, will form the basis for measuring performance through the review process You are required to attend department meetings and training as required, which may mean some additional travelling. To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job and the title of the post as requested by the Head of Department. Competencies Experience of working in a transport management environment Self motivated, professional and proactive individual Independent decision maker with the ability to interact within a busy team environment A flexible approach to work High level of IT & PC literacy and ability to adapt to new technology High levels of numeracy and literacy Good analytical and problem solving skills Good organisation and planning skills Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Clean, Full, UK or equivalent driving licence
