Data Migration Specialist - Derby We have an requirement for a Digital Product Definition (DPD) Data Migration Specialist initially for a 12 month contract, for a leader in mechatronic engineering services and solutions who partner with the most trusted names in Aero Engines, Aerospace & Defence to deliver solutions across the complete product life cycle, in the fastest and most valuable manner, spanning complex systems, platforms and products. This role will be based in their facilities in Derby. Role: The Digital Product Definition (DPD) Data Migration Specialist will work with the DPD Data Migration Project Manager to support all activities related to legacy data migration into Team Centre and validation of the migrated data. Responsibilities: Data Migration Specialist will: - Lead the legacy Data Migration efforts in line with the DPD requirements document - Map and document the requirements including - Data to be migrated - Sources of data to be migrated - single system/ multi system - Issues/ Constraints and work arounds - Define the tools and steps for data migration, identify need for any custom tools for this purpose and standard tools that could be used in conjunction with them. - Data validation plan definition in consultation with DPD Project Manager, Technical Specialists and key users. - Support regression testing of tools as required to support the migration - Pilot and validate Data Migration - fix issues observed during pilot - Support data migration as per the DPD Project Plan - Identify and manage risks identified for data migration, ensure risk register is maintained and each of the risks addressed in order of priority and criticality. - Work with stakeholders to identify issues and define solutions or workarounds in consultation with Technical Specialists and key users. - Maintain a log of issues and solutions and report out on a periodic basis - Utilise the ALM application for all test & defect management. - Escalate technical issues for resolution to the Solution Lead and/or DPD Project Manager(s). - Identification and update/generate the project specific Client documentation (e.g. Test Script(s), Solution Document(s), Functional Requirements Specification(s) Professional experience and/or qualifications: - Team Centre Data Migration - eQube toolset knowledge would be an advantage - Writing technical documentation - Business process understanding - Ability to recognise and articulate the technical dependencies within the capability, and across projects - Technical knowledge of the PLM toolset, specifically Teamcentre - Technical knowledge of the legacy PLM toolset - Understanding of data management principles Understanding of the DPD support processes - Understanding of usage of common product features across Product Lifecycle - Customer Focus - Ability to build and develop Customer & Supplier relationships Rate - Negotiable dependent upon experience.
